Introduction
The Sri Sathya Sai Baba Organization has the honor of hosting an International Medical Conference with the theme “Sai Health Mission - Ideal Health Care” on September 3rd and 4th, 2005. In the context of Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s message, the spiritual role of excellence in modern healthcare will be discussed at a medical conference to be held in Prasanthi Nilayam. The conference will foster the global transformation of human medicine to humane medicine.
Objective
One of the primary objectives of the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Organization has been the provision of quality healthcare, free of all costs to the sick and needy. This initiative was engendered by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in 1956 by the inauguration of an eight-bed General Hospital at Puttaparthi, India. The philosophy, energy and dedication that created the single hospital then have sired an international movement over the last fifty years resulting in the vast Sathya Sai Healthcare System affecting lives globally. The Organization has firmly believed in blending technology and medical excellence with love and compassion. Delivery of good healthcare to a whole patient is notably different from the delivery of medical care that targets a specific illness alone. The Sathya Sai Healthcare System has inspired the transformation of thousands of healthcare providers to serve with love and compassion without sacrificing excellence. The tenacity, commitment and global achievements of the Sathya Sai Organization, have often drawn the international medical community to the humble town of Puttaparthi. It is in this milieu that the first International Medical Conference on Sai Healthcare for All will be hosted. The conference will include a wide spectrum of healthcare professionals. Physicians, nurses, administrators, medical equipment producers and suppliers, government healthcare administrators, and others will assemble to consider all aspects of healthcare. All are invited to attend the general session, while the healthcare conference sessions will be limited to delegates who will be nominated by the Organizing Committee.
